It's time to kick off our Deck of the Day Summer Series where we will feature our favorite deck designs several times during the week! These decks will be new Kickstarter projects or designs from some of our card community's favorite artists. The purpose for these feature posts are to help new collectors discover decks they may not have otherwise found. 

RAVN III


The RAVN III is the fourth deck design of the RAVN series featured on Kickstarter.com. This fourth edition includes RAVN IIII Red, RAVN III Blue, and RAVN III X (which was unlocked after the project reached over 200% of their funding goal). This spectacular design is printed by USPCC with a brand new back design pictured below. For more details, check out their Kickstarter link here. I'm just a regular college student with a slight addiction to collecting as many playing cards as I possibly can. I am particularly drawn to cards with beautiful artwork and designs. I got my start collecting playing cards when I began picking up decks at gift shops when traveling. Six years later, now I find myself heavily invested in collecting and the community. I study Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies and a certificate in Russian and Eastern European Studies. I love doing research, especially on topics that I'm passionate about, so that's how I came to creating and writing for this blog.

Gilded Decks - A Quick History

A Quick History on Gilded Decks      Gilded decks are all the rage among the modern deck collector community, but few collectors nowadays know where and when gilded decks began.  What does "Gilded" actually mean?      The earliest known use of the word appears in 1540, meaning "covered or tinged with gold or a golden color" (source: Merriam-Webster), meaning gilded decks are ONLY those with gold edges. Silver, green, red, etc. would technically not qualify. That's the literal definition though.
