Kickstarter is probably one of the greatest ways to discover new or reoccurring projects for playing cards. I mean, who wouldn't want to be one of the first people to get their hands on the coolest new decks in the world of playing card collecting? This post will be dedicated to Kickstarters for new decks that may pique your interest. 


Black Platinum Lordz -- Master Series Playing Cards

The Black Platinum Lordz deck by De'Vo already has hundreds of backers and over $20,000 pledged of their $1,000 goal. This will be their third deck to the sequel in which only 500 are going to be printed. This deck is so exclusive that every box will have a printed number on it. It's clear that this deck has been much awaited by its backers, so if you are a serious collector, make sure to back this project ASAP before it ends!

The Sandwich Series by Cartamundi is wholesome... wholesome in the sense that once you collect all four decks, you'll have the whole sandwich! This project already has over $15,000 in funds and nearly 200 backers. Keep an eye out for this deck this summer, as I am sure they will be quick to go!

The project already has funded well past their goal of $3,742 to over $6,000. The deck will be printed by only the finest HCPC and will sell at about $15 retail price if you are not already backing the project. If you're ready to add a new deck to your minimalist collection, look no further!

Another must have deck is the newest purple series to the Paisley Royals Playing Cards. This deck is a must-have for all the fans of gilded and luxury decks. The project has already raised over $40,000 with nearly 500 backers who just can't wait to get their hands on this deck. The creators are only printing 1,000 decks in which each seal will be numbered. They've also made note that they will NOT be reprinting anymore of this series, so it will be another very exclusive deck out on the market soon.

This creator is looking to help us all during these difficult times by having our playing cards coach us professionally! The cards contain some of the most common interview questions you may find yourself being asked during an interview so you can make a great impression on potential employers. The project has already reached its goal of $2,462 with 72 backers. 
I'm just a regular college student with a slight addiction to collecting as many playing cards as I possibly can. I am particularly drawn to cards with beautiful artwork and designs. I got my start collecting playing cards when I began picking up decks at gift shops when traveling. Six years later, now I find myself heavily invested in collecting and the community. I study Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies and a certificate in Russian and Eastern European Studies. I love doing research, especially on topics that I'm passionate about, so that's how I came to creating and writing for this blog.

A Quick History on Gilded Decks      Gilded decks are all the rage among the modern deck collector community, but few collectors nowadays know where and when gilded decks began.  What does "Gilded" actually mean?      The earliest known use of the word appears in 1540, meaning "covered or tinged with gold or a golden color" (source: Merriam-Webster), meaning gilded decks are ONLY those with gold edges. Silver, green, red, etc. would technically not qualify. That's the literal definition though.
